Williams fans have a choice of four Gulf livery designs
Williams is calling on his fans to help them choose a special tandem livery with partner Gulf to run at three Grands Prix later this year.
Gulf has long been associated with iconic colors, and after establishing cooperation with Williams, he decided to create another unique project.
This time around, however, the twist is that fans will have the last word as there are four options to choose from, titled Braver than brave, Contemporary, visionary AND Heritage.
The fan selection will appear on the FW45 cars driven by Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant at the Singapore, Japanese and Qatar GPs.
The design will be chosen after three rounds of voting, starting on Friday, May 26, with the winning livery announced on Wednesday, July 12.
It will then be unveiled in a show car at the Goodwood Festival of Speed from July 13-16.
Team Principal James Vowles said: “I was at home during the period when the Gulf was being announced, but yet everyone all over the place was just alluding to the icon that is the Gulf in motorsport.
“Personally, for me, it takes me back to the late 60s when it was iconic. It’s an era that I look back on in motorsport as a great time.
“It’s about racing more than anything and it just represents our sport, it represents our history and we have two brands with huge heritages that come together.”
Assessing the four liveries that fans can choose from, Vowles added: “There’s a whole range of audiences in Formula 1 right now.
“You’ve got an iconic brand that represents the history of both, but you’ve also got some really modern twists in different forms.
“You have four liveries that are modern in their interpretation in different ways, and our fans now have the opportunity to make motorsport history with their livery decision, bringing this partnership to life.”
