Thoughts and rumors began swirling as soon as it was announced that Jimmy Garoppolo had failed physically. The new Las Vegas Raiders quarterback has a clause in his contract that allows the team to cancel his money if he fails a physical exam, and they may have to use it.

Garoppolo was to be the quarterback for the upcoming season and the immediate future of Las Vegas. He signed a three-year contract in the off-season and was welcomed by the organization and players such as Davante Adams. It probably wasn’t their primary choice, but it was a solid enough option to get excited about.
Things look bleak for the Raiders as the NFL Draft is over and all the better free agent quarterbacks have already been picked. But there is a newcomer to the organization who is now the favorite to take over the initial job.

A week ago, it was announced that Tom Brady would take a minority stake in the Raiders in his first year of retirement. But with the release of Garoppolo’s news, there were rumors that he could take on a more public role.
How it looks today Brady is a clear leader in odds to become a starting QB for the Raiders for the 2023 season, reaching +200. These are less odds than the person currently lined up for the job, which is current Raiders backup Brian Hoyer, who has +250. Matt Ryan, who just started working as an analyst, is listed at +300.
It seems that finding a job for Tom Brady is not so far-fetched. He is very familiar with the head coach, having worked with Josh McDaniels in New England for the better part of a decade and a half. And it’s not the first time Brady has tried something similar. The Miami Dolphins were drafted in the first round for manipulating the quarterback while he was under contract to another team.
Some of the other names on the course roster include free agents like Nick Foles, Carson Wentz, and Teddy Bridgewater.
