After winning the Spanish top-flight title for the first time in several seasons, it’s perfectly understandable why players at Barcelona are not particularly interested in moving away from the Xavi project.
The Catalans came out of a boil in the last few matches, but for the rest of the 2022/23 campaign they were a head above their domestic opponents.
Indeed, they had only conceded seven goals in the entire league until recently, and the club would shred any existing defensive record to a smithereens.
Taking his foot off the gas since winning the title meant that potentially the only record Marc-Andre ter Stegen could hold is the clean sheet of the season.
He currently has 25 HOWand needs two more to break the record held by Francisco Liano of Deportivo in the 1993/94 season.
Liano also holds the record for the fewest goals conceded in a Spanish league season (18). Barca have conceded 16 goals so far, but nine of them have been scored in the last six matches. Who scored points.
The defense was mostly solid, and Jules Kounde certainly did what he could to help his club win long-awaited trophies.
Given Barca’s difficult financial situation, it has been speculated that Kounde may leave the club due to how much he can achieve in the transfer market.
Just to be clear: I’ve never asked to leave, so I’m not going anywhere.

Sport he had expressed interest from both Manchester United and Chelsea, but the Frenchman’s message to those clubs and to Barcelona itself was unequivocal.
“Just to be clear: at no point have I asked to leave, so I’m not going anywhere” he wrote on Twitter.
