Barcelona’s win over Mallorca on Sunday was a special match. Not only was it their last match at the Spotify Camp Nou before the renovations began this summer, but also the final matches of Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets in front of their loving fans.
Both players received standing ovations during the match, and at the final whistle Barcelona paid tribute to the veteran duo. Each of them, Joan Laporta, presented them with a commemorative plaque, and they were also obligatorily thrown in the air by their teammates.

Speaking after the game (Fig Mark), both players took the opportunity to thank the club, its staff, teammates and fans.
“I would like to thank everyone, it was an honor to defend these colors. Today I have to remember many people who played a big role in my career. I didn’t expect to receive so much love, it’s the best day of my professional life, Alba said emotionally.
“I didn’t win as much as Busquets, but what I won isn’t bad either. I am also thinking about the one who signed me in 2012, Tito Vilanov.

“I would like to thank everyone. It was a pleasure to play here. Thank you to my family who have always been with me, I love you. I’m very proud to be at the best club in the world. I’m a social worker, a fan. I’m leaving today, but my dream has come true,” said Busquets.
“”Barca is the best club in the world, with the best fans. Since childhood, I dreamed of playing at Spotify Camp Nou, which in a few months will again become the best stadium in the world.”

Both Alba and Busquets have been incredible servants for Barcelona and will leave a huge void when they leave at the end of the season.
