For the third time in three years, Italy and Spain will meet in the semi-finals of a European competition. After Euro 2020 and the 2021 Nations League, they will face each other on June 15 in Enschende in the 2023 Nations League semi-final.
Although Spain’s roster has not been revealed, Transalpine coach Roberto Mancini has revealed the 26 players who will go to the Netherlands. The former Manchester City tactician has had to deal without Inter Milan and Fiorentina players unavailable for the Champions League and Europa League conference finals on July 10 and July 7 respectively.
The list is marked by the returns of Nicolo Zaniolo, now at Galatasaray, and Lazio Rome striker Ciro Immobile, who has been sidelined since November and September respectively. Alessandro Florenzi, Mattia Zaccagni and Manuel Locatelli, who have not been called up since June, are also back, while Lecce centre-back Federico Baschirotto has been called up for the first time. The absent Sandro Tonali and Giorgio Scalvini were made available to the U-21 group for the final phase of the European Under-21 Championship. It is also worth noting the presence of Parisians Gianluigi Donnarumma and Marco Verratti.
