Preview Leeds Utd – Spurs
It all comes down to the last day. The UEFA Champions League qualifying race is settled. The champion has been crowned. However, the uncertainty is about two things – who will get to Europe through the Conference League and who will be relegated. In these two stories, these two clubs – Leeds United and Spurs – are the heroes.
Falling record for Sam Allardyce is at risk as Leeds are favorites to fall along with Leicester City on the final day of the season. The predictions and permutations of relegation from the Premier League are not at all conducive to their chances.
On the other hand, Tottenham’s campaign went completely off track after initial optimism under Ryan Mason. Their European destiny is now out of their control. The best they can do is win and hope the other results work in their favor so they can sneak up to 7th.
Therefore, as both clubs need a win and nothing but a win, it promises to be an exciting clash with both teams going to hell to try and win.
Here is the Leeds United vs Spurs prediction, team news, lineups and more-
Leeds Utd lineups at Spurs
Predicted line-up Leeds Utd
Sam Allardyce had already struggled with Leeds United’s injury side, and his worries were deepened against West Ham when Rodrigo and Patrick Bamford suffered ankle and thigh problems respectively. They doubt it.
In goal, Joel Robles replaced Illan Meslier as first choice and will remain here. Junior Firpo will come back from suspension and go straight at left-back. Rasmus Kristensen and Maximilian Wober are Sam Allardyce’s preferred defensive pairing and should continue here. Luke Ayling is a ubiquitous right-back option.
Robin Koch and Weston McKennie are the top two names on Sam Allardyce’s list of teams and that should not change. It’s a draw between Adam Forshaw and Mark Roca for third place that Forshaw seems to be winning.
Patrick Bamford and Rodrigo have their doubts, but given the stakes in this game, it’s unlikely they won’t consider themselves fit for this match. Jack Harrison will complete the attacking trio Peacocks.
Predicted Leeds Utd line-up: Robles, Ayling, Kristensen, Wober, Firpo, Forshaw, Koch, McKennie, Harrison, Rodrigo, Bamford
Predicted Spurs lineup
Ryan Mason jumps between formations and players to find a winning formula, but so far to no avail. They have lost the last two matches against Aston Villa and at home against Brentford. However, a respite may come in the form of the return of Cristian Romero and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg after missing the Brentford match.
Fraser Forster will start in goal as an injury to Hugo Lloris continues to hold him back, possibly having played his last game for the club.
A fit again, Cristian Romero should return straight to the side in a three-back formation, with Clement Lenglet and Emerson paired with him.
Hojbjerg’s return should also mean Ryan Mason has reclaimed his first-choice midfielder, pairing the Danish midfielder with Oliver Skipp.
Pedro Porro and Ben Davies will provide width from the wing-back position as the attacking trio picks up – Harry Kane, Heung-Min Son and Richarlison. Dejan Kulusevski didn’t get any glory against Brentford, so he’s out.
Predicted Spurs lineup: Forster, Lenglet, Rosemary, Emerson, Porro, Skipp, Hojbjerg, Davies, Richarlison, Son, Kane.
Leeds United vs Spurs picks
There is a furious atmosphere at Elland Road as fans push their team to a victory that will keep their flickering hopes of survival alive. Tottenham are in free fall and Harry Kane looks like the only player yet to be hit by the malaise.
The mentality of the Spurs players has been questioned several times this season and there are few places more difficult to overcome than a full Elland Road fighting for its future in the PL.
This could be a case of Leeds United weakening Spurs’ chances of promotion in the table by dooming them to defeat while going down despite winning.
