Daniel Levy’s next managerial appointment at Tottenham Hotspur is likely to be the most important of his career as chairman of White Hart Lane.
After the recent defeats of the eras of Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo and Antonio Conte, there is simply no more leeway that Spurs fans are likely to give Levy if he gets it wrong again.
When high-profile names and serial winners like Conte and Mourinho allude to behind-the-scenes issues, it doesn’t take a fool to conclude that the current problems the club is facing can be blamed on the chairman.
Since people like Julian Nagelsmann and Arne Slot apparently came close to getting the job only to make statements suggesting otherwise, it’s clear that working for Levy has become something of a poisoned chalice.

Here we are, more than two months after Conte left, and the people of north London still have no idea who will lead them into the 2023/24 campaign.
With the current season ending on Sunday and the summer transfer window opening in just over two weeks, the club must have someone in place, if only for a reason other than being a figurehead and a major factor in persuading players that their the future is in North London.

“If De Laurentiis had bet on Italiano, I would consider it normal. I know it’s also popular abroad. He’s on Tottenham’s list. Many say Italiano has a €10m release clause but no release clause from Fiorentina.
Vincenzo Italiano apparently has other cheerleaders, and tweeting journalist Josh Bunting was also full of praise.
